Cursor, the startup behind a popular AI-powered code editor, is expanding beyond editing into code hosting, launching a platform designed to directly challenge GitHub. The move signals that Cursor sees an opening in the market where developers have grown increasingly annoyed with GitHub's pricing, feature bloat, or pace of innovation under Microsoft's ownership.
